Pay and display car parks
All staff and Members who wish to park in one of the Council’s pay and display or civic office car parks will have the option of:
- applying for a virtual car parking permit, for use within designated car parks. This is free of charge
OR
- using “Pay and Display” parking, at the appropriate tariff. NPT Council staff and Members who incur charges at a “pay and display” public car park, at The Quays or any other designated car park when visiting a location other than their fixed base, while carrying out Council business, will be reimbursed the actual cost of parking.
Designated car parks
The designated car parks have been amended in the new Scheme and are:
Monday to Friday
- Neath multi-storey car park - 6am to 11pm
- Port Talbot multi-storey car park - 7am to 6pm
Port Talbot multi-storey car park is open until 7.30 pm but there is no charge after 6pm
Monday to Sunday
- The Quays
- Scarlet Avenue, Port Talbot SA12 7PH – 8am to 8pm (for employees who work at Trem-y-mor only)
Current parking permits
Current parking permits are still valid. There is no need to request a new permit.
New starters, expired permits or changing your car
For new starters, or if your permit has expired or you change cars, send an application to parkingpermits@npt.gov.uk along with the applicant's:
- email address
- car registration
- payroll number
Barrier-controlled parking
The following categories of staff will be granted barrier-controlled parking facilities:
- Blue Badge holders (subject to such Badge holders being based at Port Talbot Civic Centre/already being a permit holder)
- Staff with short-term mobility difficulties who have been granted temporary access to barrier-controlled parking facilities at this location
- Chief Officers and Members
